The situation between Israel and Iran has recently increased in tension. Apart from President Ahmadinejad constantly calling for the destruction of Israel, Iran recently hosted a conference denying the Holocaust. When said conference was not involved in denying the Holocaust, it was calling for the disintegration of the state of Israel, such as during the speeches by the Neturei Karta. Iran has also continued its nuclear ambitions. In the Sunday Times of London it was reported that Israel is planning on taking preemptive nuclear action against Iran. Israel denies that it has any nuclear weapons and adds that it has no plans on attacking Iran, instead willing to let the UN deal with the situation. Chinese President Hu Jintao gave Prime Minister Olmert his country's support for disarming Iran. According to reports, China adopted the position after receiving assurances from Saudi Arabia that the kingdom would make up any drop in oil shipments from Iran.
