Circle K Bought Out: Now Sells Kegs
By: Mike McCormack
Without access to those things that are necessary for survival, students perish. On that note, for the first time in UM's history, kegs o' beer are sold within 1 block from our campus. 'Heers to getting what 'we' need.
Formerly called Circle K, and recently bought out by a family from California and re-named to Stop-n-shop, the store located right next to our Baseball Stadium - what I call A-Rod Field - (on the Coral Gables Campus) recently started selling fully loaded kegs. At 69.99, even the brokest of UM students can now walk to Stop-n-Shop with a buddy, buy a keg on the spot, and cart it to their sleeper (or wherever the party is). Good luck picking it up...
The point is that its never been easier to BYOB... Just go to Stop-n-Shop.
Everyone agrees that this is an amazing business plan. With passion to bring students what they need, including sandwiches, Cuban coffee, kegs o' beer and cigar wraps, Sam and his family have the right idea and they are in the right place, right next to the U. I feel like everyone in the UM community has been in this shop. The difficult part for the business is dealing with the short periods of time at which classes are not in session and students travel home: The place is dead.
But as soon as classes kick back into session, it never fails: The place is packed.
